Goodbye, Barcelona officially dismissed Ronald Koeman

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Ronald Koeman’s era has ended when Barcelona officially dismissed the Dutch coach. This comes following Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano in Spain’s La Liga.

This decision was made just two hours after Barcelona’s defeat to Rayo Vallecano in the 2021-2022 LaLiga continuation. These results seem unforgivable for Barcelona officials.

“FC Barcelona has fired Ronald Koeman tonight as first team coach. The president of the club, Joan Laporta, has notified him after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano,” read a Barcelona statement.

As is known, Koeman was appointed as Barcelona coach since the summer of 2020. At that time he replaced Quique Setien.

Koeman made big sacrifices to accept Barcelona’s proposal. He was willing to miss the opportunity to lead the Dutch national team at the 2020 European Cup.

Unfortunately, difficult times had to be lived by Koeman at Barcelona. The financial crisis that hit El Barca made him have to sell a number of star players and maximize young players.

With these conditions, Koeman was still able to present the Copa del Rey trophy last season. But that didn’t seem enough, especially after Barcelona swallowed a series of bad results at the start of the 2021-2022 season.

Barcelona will officially release Koeman this afternoon at Ciudad Deportiva. An interesting speech would certainly be delivered.

“FC Barcelona would like to thank you for the services rendered to the team and wish him the best of luck in his professional career.”
