Got a Chance to Play, Fikayo Tomori Wants to Return Lampard’s Trust
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Fikayo Tomori, Chelsea’s young defender said he wanted to immediately pay the trust given by the club manager, Frank Lampard. Tomori owes the manager a chance to play this season.
Tomori became one of the mainstays of Chelsea players at the back. He often duets with Kurt Zouma or Andreas Christensen at the heart of the Blues defense. In the 2018-19 season, Tomori also became Lampard’s mainstay while still strengthening the Championship division team, Derby County.
“This season, I want to try to set aside a place in the first team and Frank Lampard also allowed me to shine this season,” said Fikayo Tomori quoted from Sky Sports page.
“Lampard continues to give me opportunities. Even if I make a mistake or not be in the right position. He helped me and made me a better player,” Lampard added.
At dawn later, Tomori is predicted to still get the trust of Lampard to guard Chelsea’s backline. This time, the 21-year-old gets a tough test because he will face Ajax who performed nicely in the last two seasons.
“The party against Ajax will be fierce. Because both teams are currently in their best performance. Ajax is a team with a rich history and has a stadium that is no less great. So, we are sure that the party will run very fiercely,” said Tomori.
