Harry Kane Gets Praise from Premier League Legend

DBasia.news – In the 2021 summer transfer market, the issue of the transfer of Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane to Manchester City was very fast rolling. Kane is plotted as a substitute for Sergio Aguero.

Drama ensued until Kane missed training and made Tottenham fans question his commitment and loyalty. Kane (28 years) in the end stayed. It took time for him to find the best performance.

Tottenham floundered under the direction of Nuno Espirito Santo, then he was sacked and replaced with Antonio Conte. Slowly, Kante began to find his best form of play and it was seen against Manchester City.

On week 26 of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (20/02) early morning WIB, Tottenham ended City’s unbeaten record (unbeaten) in 15 matches and they did it at the opposing team’s headquarters.

Harry Kane scored twice (one more goal had it not been disallowed by VAR), started the attack, difficult for two City defenders: Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias. The England captain becomes an all-round striker.

The all-round striker is a versatile striker: he can be a target man, finish chances, open up space and be the center of the game. That’s what Kane did when he terrorized the Man City defense.

His movement was difficult to predict by the City defense and his three goals (one disallowed) came with good positioning and timing. Premier League legend and former legendary England striker, Alan Shearer admits that.

“It was one of the best centre-forward performances I’ve seen all season, anywhere,” said Shearer.

“Intelligence, aggressiveness, goals, assists, he’s too good for City centre-backs Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias – and we don’t say that very often. He’s too smart for them.”

No wonder Daniel Levy did not sell Kane for less than £150 million to Man City. Shearer also explained how Kane acted and was difficult for City to stop.

“Part of Tottenham’s game plan is to keep finding Kane with short passes, because none of the City defenders want to come in with him,” explained Shearer.

“Spurs kept the runners up to pass from Kane and into the back. His first pass to release Son Heung-min for their first goal was absolutely sensational.”

“For Tottenham’s second goal, I knew, as soon as Ryan Sessegnon picked up the ball, Kane was going to score because he saw the gap and nobody was going to take it. Then comes the clinical finish.”

“It was amazing to watch. Everything he does is amazing, including the winners. Say what you want about the defence, and that’s rubbish, there’s only going to be one person getting that cross and it’s not Kyle Walker.”

Kane’s game was fantastic against Man City. His stats from Squawka are 100 shooting accuracy, 38 touches, 13 passes in the opposition third of the defence, four wins in duels, three kicks (three on target) and two chances created.
