Harry Maguire is no longer fit to be captain of Manchester United

DBasia.news – Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand has advised Ralf Rangnick regarding the captain position. According to him, Harry Maguire can no longer be trusted as Manchester United captain.
Harry Maguire immediately assumed the role of Manchester United’s captain shortly after joining. Since 2019, he has been the leader of Manchester United replacing Ashley Young who moved to Inter Milan.
However, Maguire’s ups and downs has caused a lot of criticism. Maguire is considered unfit to be captain of Manchester United with an unsatisfactory appearance. Some of Maguire’s mistakes ended up being goals for the opponent.
Ferdinand believes the position actually made it difficult for Maguire to get the best out of him. Therefore, Rangnick needs to find another person to replace Maguire’s position.
“The only way to end the criticism is to remove the captaincy from Harry Maguire,” Ferdinand explained on Vibe with FIVE.
“I think the option of changing captains needs to be considered. Because the situation experienced by Maguire, who is a new player, feels challenging. The responsibility as captain weighs heavily on Maguire at this time.”
Then, Ferdinand also gave advice about players who have the ability to become leaders. The legend chose David de Gea who has recently been brilliant in goal for Manchester United.
“I do not see many options in the captaincy. However, my choice fell to David de Gea. He has been at the club for some time and knows what it takes to win,” said Ferdinand.
Next, Manchester United will challenge Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2021-2022 Premier League continued match, at Old Trafford Stadium, Tuesday (4/1) morning WIB. Currently, Man United have collected 31 points from 18 matches.
