Held to a draw by Sassuolo, Sarri Admits to being Confused by Juventus’ Performance

DBasia.news – Juventus continued to fail to win three full points in the 2019/2020 continued Serie A. The Bianconeri were held to a 3-3 draw with hosts, Sassuolo at Mapei Stadium, Thursday (7/16) AM.

Earlier in the 31st giornata, the Bianconeri were overthrown by AC Milan, 2-4. Furthermore the defending champion was held by Atalanta 2-2 in Turin. The Old Lady’s coach, Maurizio Sarri began to be confused after the 33rd week’s match.

Indeed, the black and white squad were two goals ahead first. As time went by, the host turned to lead 3-2. Alex Sandro became Juve’s savior. His header in the 64th minute, has made the position into a draw.

“A coach expects consistency from his team. That’s something that is lacking from us, both physically and mentally,” Sarri said evaluating the performance of his players, as quoted from Football Italia.

He saw a time when Gonzalo Higuain and colleagues showed the right intensity. But in a few moments, it was seen that the Bianconeri crew were a bit passive. Sarri has difficulty understanding why that happened.

If his team is able to resolve the issue, he believes they would be challenging to stop. On a similar occasion, the former Chelsea tactician showed respect for the host. He alluded to the statistics of Sassuolo’s storytelling, who always won in four Serie A matches, before this match.

“In the future they can become like Atalanta,” Sarri stated.

A draw at the Mapei Stadium has left Juventus on the throne. With 77 points, the Bianconeri are only seven points ahead of Atalanta on the second ladder. Serie A has five matches left.
