Hodgson Questions Milivojevic’s Red Card
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson said he was disappointed with referee Martin Atkinson after the match kicked out midfielder Luka Milivojevic in a Premier League match at Wolverhampton.
Palace captain Milivojevic was sent off in the 87th minute for bad behavior towards Wolves’ Joao Moutinho after the referee checked the pitchside monitor for serious fouls following the intervention of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The expulsion ended a frustrating night for Palace, whose multiple VAR decisions cost them, with Michy Batshuayi’s goal ruled out and penalties canceled, both for offside.
“My view is that this is not an expulsion and I have told that to Martin Atkinson,” said Hodgson.
“He thought there was a reason to give a red card but I saw it too and I obviously don’t agree with that. It’s a fair challenge and there is no intention of contact with Moutinho.”
“I’m disappointed with that one. This was the worst part of the night. There will be positives to take, but losing a player for three games to a challenge that I don’t even consider a foul will be hard to accept.”
