Housem Aouar’s Regret

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Regret always comes last, and that’s how Housem Aouar feels right now.

Aouar (24 years old) is a product of the Lyon academy who was promoted in 2016 and is slowly becoming a regular there, plus he has one cap. Currently at that age Aouar should add to the experience of playing in other top European leagues.

Instead of doing so Aouar is still at Lyon and, ironically, currently has no enthusiasts from the Premier League, the league he has always dreamed of. The only Aouar fan comes from LaLiga, namely Real Betis, a club that also features former team-mate, Nabil Fekir.

According to L’Equipe Betis have been targeting Aouar for 7 months and now with the lack of enthusiasts for Aouar, Betis have a great opportunity to sign him. Reportedly Aouar opened up opportunities to LaLiga despite dreaming of playing in the Premier League.

That can mean Aouar regrets not choosing to join Arsenal two years ago. Currently, Aouar’s contract ends with Lyon and only has Betis as an interested club.

In 2020 Aouar’s price soared to 55 million pounds due to  the talent he showed. Arsenal wanted him but Aouar stayed because he thought he could still contribute to Lyon.

“Firstly because I feel I can still bring a lot to this team and club, it’s that simple. I want to continue the adventure with the club that raised me. We now have to lift our heads up because we have to do better,” said Aouar two years ago.

Arsenal are currently targeting Lyon players again, but not Aouar but his team-mate, Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is a transfer target that Mikel Arteta wants.
