DBasia.news –  Liverpool wing striker Mohamed Salah is going through a period of goal fasting. Liverpool’s legend, Ian Rush, assesses the former AS Roma player just needs to be patient waiting for a goal to be reborn from his feet or head.

Mohamed Salah became a sensation last season. The player scored 44 goals in 52 appearances in various competitions. The amount is only three goals from Rush’s club record.

But now, Salah’s appearance began to decline. The Egyptian national team player didn’t score in the last seven games. It was the worst since the player joined Liverpool.

“You have time like that, but the key is to maintain self-confidence. Don’t ever be afraid to get into a lost position,” Rush explained.   Liverpool Echo.

“After you are afraid of that, it will be a problem. If you get a chance and fail, it is not a problem. We have seen what he can do last season and the beginning of this season. Continue to get the chance and confidence will return.”

According to Rush, goals are not the only indicator for a player. He felt that the most important thing was being able to win a title.

“Mohamed Salah has scored 40 goals last season, but Liverpool have won nothing. He didn’t score many goals now, but hopefully, they win something and that’s what happened when I didn’t score many goals.

“We have Kenny Dalglish and a midfielder who has scored a lot and won titles. So, it balances him.”

“Mohamed Salah is entering a period of calm, but he is playing well. He is not scoring goals. Most important is Sadio Mane appearing at this time. Mo Salah has one or two chances, but has not yet scored,” continued the legend.

This season, Liverpool’s row of goals in the Premier League is still dominated by Mane, Salah and Firmino. Mane and Salah have scored 17 goals, while Firmino has 10 goals. Now, Liverpool are only three goals less than the number printed last season.
