DBasia.news – Arsenal legend Ian Wright was annoyed at the attitude of Arsenal’s captain Laurent Koscielny, who refused to take part in the pre-season tour to leave for another club. Wright criticized his attitude.
Arsenal’s main squad has left for the United States since Thursday (11/7). However, there is no name of Laurent Koscielny in the list of the Gunners who flew to Uncle Sam’s country.
Laurent Koscielny’s contract at Arsenal alone leaves one season left. The Frenchman hopes to move to another club for free in the summer of 2019.
Unfortunately, Arsenal rejected Laurent Koscielny’s request. They need additional funds in the transfer market so they are reluctant to release Koscielny for free.
The result was that Laurent Koscielny refused to go to the United States. Ian Wright considered the 33-year-old defender’s attitude could damage his relationship with Arsenal fans.
“Laurent Koscielny provided extraordinary services to Arsenal. I saw him playing in the middle of an injury and creating a legendary status that he deserved,” said Ian Wright.
“When the Arsenal captain refused to take part in a preseason tour after nine seasons, he ruined his reputation. It bothered me. Why Laurent Koscielny?”
“I feel disappointed with your decision. I feel annoyed with your agent for doing this. It is impossible for Laurent Koscielny to think of this alone,” Ian Wright added.
Laurent Koscielny joined Arsenal since 2010. At that time, the Gunners recruited Koscielny from the French team, Lorient, with a tag of 8.45 million pounds.
