DBasia.news – AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic apologized for having missed an opportunity when his team lost to Manchester United on Friday (19/3) am.
In the last few days, the media has been floodedwith news about whether Ibrahimovic will appear when the Rossoneri host the Red Devils or not, and in the end he did play at the San Siro, even if wasn’t starting.
Stefano Pioli made two 20-minute changes to the second half as the Swedish legend returned to the pitch against his former club, signing alongside Diogo Dalot with Pierre Kalulu and Samu Castillejo paving the way for them.
The 39 year old striker forced Dean Henderson to make a save when he was isolated against Luke Shaw, winning a header but the United goalkeeper was able to keep out.
Ibrahimovic also apologized for his failure to take advantage of these opportunities until finally Milan fell 0-1 and were knocked out of the Europa League 1-2 on aggregate.
“I’m sure I could put it in, but it was too central. Against Inter, I was blocked by the goalkeeper and I’m sorry, it should have came in,” he told MilanTV after the match.
“We played well and created some chances. If you don’t score, there are times when they press you. This moment comes and they score. When you make a mistake, you pay for it.
“We are very disappointed because we played two great games. Today we conceded a goal we shouldn’t have, we developed from these situations. Now, let’s think about the next game.”
