Ibrahimovic Remains Ac Milan’s Penalty Executor
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a goal from a penalty in AC Milan’s match against Bologna. This season he has missed four penalty goals.
It was fortunate that AC Milan finally managed to win 2-1 over hosts Bologna at Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday (30/1), with Ante Rebic completing Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s rebound before Franck Kessie snatched the rossoneri’s second penalty.
This victory is a testament to the previous two consecutive defeats for Stefano Pioli’s side who lost 3-0 against Atalanta in their last match in Serie A at the San Siro, before being knocked out by Inter Milan 2-1 in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
After the match, midfielder, Franck Kessie insisted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained the main taker of AC Milan’s penalty as the chance from the spot meant more to a striker, while revealing that it was the 39 year old bomber who asked him to take the rossoneri’s second penalty in the second half.
“Ibra is a dedicated penalty taker,” the Ivory Coast midfielder told Sky Sport Italia. “In the second half he let me kick it, but he was our main penalty taker.”
“So who will take the penalty depends on his decision because penalty kicks are more important for an attacker. Today’s game was important, it’s always difficult to play at home to opponents, especially at Bologna headquarters. We wanted the three points and in the end we got them. “
With this victory AC Milan has kept two points clear of city rivals Inter Milan with 46 points from 20 matches, and is seven points ahead of reigning champions, Juventus who still have a game in hand. The last time the rossoneri won Serie A was in 2011.
