DBasia.news – Gennaro Gattuso accepted that he would be the one to blame for AC Milan’s defeat. He claimed that he still has the support from the team after the much-needed victory against Sampdoria.
Suso’s amazing goal made Rossoneri won 3-2 at San Siro, Sunday (28/10). Il Samp claimed the 2-1 victory by the goal and assist from the former Milan midfielder Riccardo Saponara.
Milan got defeated in two previous matches, intensifies the pressure on Gattuso. Moreover, his future speculation is growing since the beginning of this season.
However, Gattuso could feel relieved after his squad achieved three points from Sampdoria. Now, Milan are in the 7th rank in Serie A temporary standing with 15 points, equal to Sampdoria and Fiorentina above.
“I want to congratulate the players, as they are the ones who took to the field,” Gattuso said during the press conference. “It’s right that when you don’t win you blame the coach.”
“If I saw a signal from the team, that they weren’t backing me, and with the relationship, I have with the club, I would take a step back. But I won’t need to, as I know the team are following me, so I’ll keep working,” Gattuso said.
“But there is a lot of pressure. I hear the rumors, and even things I say don’t help. But everything is calm on my part.”
“We combined technique and competitive anger, which resulted in a good performance.”
Milan will serve Genoa on Wednesday (31/10). Gattuso squad have the chance to boost the team position in the table.
