Ignoring Erik ten Hag, Manchester United targets Crystal Palace
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Other teams have secured their signings such as Manchester City with Erling Haaland or Darwin Nunez at Liverpool, while Manchester United still has no movement.
Its not that Man United are immobile, it’s just that their movement is relatively slow and negotiations are tough as in the case of Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong. Even their target is released to another team.
Nunez is one example. Besides Nunez, there is also a talented 18-year-old Derby County player, Malcolm Ebiowei, who ultimately chose to join Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace instead of joining Manchester United.
Ebiowei plays as a winger and last season played well with Derby coached by Man United legend Wayne Rooney. The story of Ebiowei’s rejection is also unique.
As quoted from 90min, Ebiowei received a phone call from the assistant coach of Man United, Steve McClaren, who was once the Technical Director of Derby. Even United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, tried to send him a message.
Ten Hag hoped his message would convince Ebiowei to join Man United, but the opposite happened. Ebiowei ignored the message and chose to join Palace anyway.
Palace’s efforts with their sporting director, Dougie Freedman, paid off as in the end Ebiowei landed in London, not Manchester. Man United again failed to secure their target.
