Improving the Defensive Line, Man United Aim Raphael Varane
By news-admin
Raphael Varane
DBasia.news – Manchester United often failed to achieve the full point against the statistically easy teams like West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Crystal Palace. Their playing inconsistency this season placed the team in the seventh position of temporary standing.
The main problem of The Red Devils is more obvious, the defensive line. It has been the main focus for Jose Mourinho, but they only signed one new defender during the summer transfer market, Diogo Dalot from FC Porto.
The weak defensive line makes their goalkeeper, David de Gea, really has a difficult moment to score a clean sheet. Even in the Premier Leauge competition, the 28-year-old goalkeeper got conceded 21 goals.
Man United
Mirror reported Manchester United are ready to break the transfer record by signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
The French player is the main target of the CEO, Ed Woodward. He feels certain about that because Varane once played collaborated with Mourinho.
It’s no strange if United are interested to sign him. Apparently, he shows a consistent performance in Bernabeu. Varane was also the important figure behind El Real’s victory in Champions League the last three seasons since summer 2015/2016.
But, the chance to sign the player who was born in Lille, France, must be hard considering Varane is the prominent defenders of Los Blancos. Moreover, he is still in contract until 2022.
Raphael Varane is not the only target. United are also targeting some other players like Toby Alderweireld and Diego Godin.
