Injury, Manchester United Refuses to Sign Ousmane Dembele
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Due to injury, Manchester United finally chose to end their efforts to recruit Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele.
Ousmane Dembele has been linked with the Red Devils since the end of the summer of 2020. But even though it was reported that Dembele was also interested in joining Old Trafford, in the end the transfer did not happen.
And the issue of Dembele’s links to United has continued into this summer, with Dembele seen as a cheaper option than Jadon Sancho.
The Mirror previously reported that United had prepared a 50 million euro bid for Dembele, who was seen as one of Europe’s best young talents when he left Borussia Dortmund for Barcelona in 2017.
Unfortunately during his time at Camp Nou, Dembele’s career was often hindered by injuries that prevented him from being fit long enough to show his abilities.
But in the end all possibilities of Dembele’s transfer to United were lost after Dembele limped off the pitch during the Euros due to a knee injury. The good news, Dembele successfully underwent surgery, but he still had to be out for 4 months.
The news was a heavy blow for Barca. With Dembele now in the final year of his contract, he may be a candidate for sale to help a club struggling financially.
And confirmation of Sancho’s transfer to United ultimately ended Dembele’s transfer speculation to Old Trafford.
