Insinuated with the title of Maurizio Sarri’s Golden Boy, Jorginho Responds with a myriad of achievements

DBasia.news – Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, replied to the insinuation of him being called the golden child of coach Maurizio Sarri with a myriad of achievements.

Jorginho’s career with Chelsea has had its ups and downs. He immediately became a mainstay of the Blues when he was brought in from Napoli in the summer of 2018.

His arrival to London was inseparable from Sarri’s figure. The Italian man had just been appointed as the new manager of Chelsea.

Since then, the label of Sarri’s favorite child has begun to be attached to the figure of Jorginho. Cesc Fabregas, who was dismissed from Chelsea, was one of those who gave the insinuation.

Jorginho’s career with Chelsea seems to be coming to an end as Sarri leaves after one season being in charge. He chose to move to Juventus.

“The start of my journey at Chelsea made me miss (Napoli) even more. We all remember what they said, right?” wrote Jorginho in The Players’ Tribune.

“I was too slow. I was too weak. I am the son of Sarri. It made me furious.”

Jorginho’s fate was uncertain after Sarri’s departure. Only a two-term transfer ban that kept him at Chelsea.

The arrival of Frank Lampard as the new Chelsea manager has made Jorginho even more difficult. He was even listed in the sale list in the summer of 2020.

But in the end Jorginho stayed at Chelsea. A decision that ultimately led to success for both parties.

Jorginho has started to regularly fill the Chelsea starter list since Thomas Tuchel came to replace Lampard at the end of last January. Chelsea then was able to advance to the Champions League final and emerge as champions.

That success has made Jorginho’s quality begin to be recognized. Moreover, he later helped the Italian national team win the 2020 European Cup.

The two trophies became Jorginho’s main capital to win the title of the best European player. No other player last season was able to match his achievements.

“I just use criticism as fuel. I thought, These people will be ashamed,” he added.

“And now I’m sitting here with the Europa League title (2019) and the Champions League. So to all the critics, I just want to say thank you.”
