Inter Milan reached an agreement with PSV on Denzel Dumfries’ transfer

DBasia.news – Inter Milan finally found a replacement for Achraf Hakimi. According to reports by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven for the transfer of Denzel Dumfries.

Inter Milan could not resist the departure of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The offer of 60 million euros plus a bonus of 11 million euros has enticed La Beneamata. The funds can help Inter overcome their financial problems.

Hakimi’s departure also left a big hole in the right post of Inter’s defense. Danilo D’Ambrosio, who can play in that position, is often injured. In addition, there is a difference in quality with Hakimi.

Not surprisingly, Inter are looking for a new right-back. Inter’s choice fell to Denzel Dumfries, who performed well at Euro 2020 with the Dutch national team.

Inter started to move after releasing Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea. Inter Milan’s first offer was 12 million euros. Meanwhile, PSV are reportedly asking for 14 million euros.

Now, after intense negotiations between the two camps, an agreement has been reached. “Inter has reached a verbal agreement with PSV. Now, documents are being prepared to take him to Milan, probably during the day,” Di Marzio wrote on Twitter.

The agreement reached was a transfer worth 12.5 million euros. In addition, PSV can still get a bonus worth 2.5 million euros.

Denzel Dumfries does have a playing style similar to Hakimi. The 25-year-old player can play in a three-back scheme as a right wing. Dumfries showed it when defending the Netherlands.

Nahitan Nandez Still Has a Chance to Come

Meanwhile, the arrival of Denzel Dumfries will not close the opportunity for Nahitan Nandez to join. Nandez and Dumfries are two unrelated transfers.

Inter have reportedly reached an agreement with the Uruguay international player. However, the Nerazzurri struggled to convinve Cagliari. Interestingly, Nandez helped his move to Inter.
