Inter Milan sets realistic goals in the Champions League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi did not set high targets in the Champions League this season. He wants the Nerazzurri to qualify from the group stage first.
For the last three seasons, Inter have always failed to advance to the top 16 of the Champions League. Last season, tickets to the Europa League could not be achieved after finishing in the caretaker position.
Therefore, Inzaghi did not want to think further. For him, now the most important thing is to beat Real Madrid on the first matchday, Thursday (16/9/2021) at 02.00 WIB.
Not an easy match, especially since Madrid have been unbeaten in the Spanish League and are currently top of the standings with 10 points from 4 matches. However, Lautaro Martinez and his teammates need a positive start so that the opportunity to qualify for the knockout phase is wide open from the start.
“Tomorrow, we need to show our game perfectly,” said Inzaghi at a press conference ahead of the match, as quoted by Football Italia.
“Inter have never penetrated the top 16 of the Champions League since 2011. Tomorrow, we will start our journey with a clear target, which is to qualify from the group phase,” he continued.
