Inter Milan suddenly wants to sign Robin Gosens

DBasia.news – Inter Milan appeared to be unphased in the winter transfer market which opened throughout January, though that wasn’t the case. Ahead of the deadline, the Nerazzurri surprisingly moved to aim for one name.
He is Atalanta left back, Robin Gosens. Inter wanted to complete the transfer of the German national team player this January and are ready to compete with wealthy English club, Newcastle United.
“Inter will insist on making German left back, Robin Gosens the main target for this January transfer. Negotiations with Atalanta will take place soon, Inter has made Gosens a priority,” said European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
“They will face competition from Newcastle, that’s why Inter are now moving fast.”
The situation also surprised Atalanta who had no intention of releasing the 27-year-old player, especially in January. Gosens’ official tag is estimated at 40 million euros and Newcastle are reportedly ready to pay 3.5 million euros per year.
Ahead of this deadline, Inter are actively looking for players to add depth to the squad, especially recently Inter Directors have spoken to Simone Inzaghi regarding plans or strategies in this transfer market.
It won’t be easy for Inter to sign Gosens as they offered loan schemes and permanent options at the end of the season, while Newcastle have no problem with cash outlays.
Gosens is a prolific full-back and alongside Achraf Hakimi and Theo Hernandez, Gosen has contributed to at least nine goals in 21 Serie A openers in the last 15 years.
Apart from Gosens, Inter have also been linked with Felipe Caicedo, the Lazio striker who is on loan at Genoa. Caicedo was plotted as a replacement for the injured Joaquin Correa and Inzaghi is no stranger as he had coached him at Lazio.
