Interested in Federico Chiesa, Bayern Munich is hampered by transfer value

DBasia.news – New Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann admits he is interested in signing Federico Chiesa in the transfer market. Nagelsmann fell in love with the Juventus player’s performance throughout the 2020 European Cup.

The 35 year old coach thinks Chiesa is a high-tech player and is always a threat to opponents. Not only that, Chiesa’s ball processing technique is accompanied by great speed.

“I really want to sign Chiesa. He’s a super player with dynamic movement. I’ve been monitoring him for some time. He can dribble and has a good finish,” said Nagelsmann as reported by Italian Football.

With Juventus last season, Chiesa made 46 appearances in all competitions, packing 15 goals and 11 assists. His stellar performances at club level continued in the European Cup with Italy.

From seven appearances in this tournament, Chiesa made two goals. Chiesa became one of the pillars of Italy’s success to become European champions for the second time.

“He’s a free player. With his dribbling ability he tried to break the deadlock. He is a fast player and can finish the attack well,” Nagelsmann added.

Although eager to sign Chiesa, Nagelsman realized it would be challenging to realize. The biggest obstacle for Bayern is of course the high transfer value that must be prepared.

“Of course, he is a high quality player. He will also be very expensive. Most likely, he has a fairly high transfer value,” he stated.

The Transfermarkt website estimates that Chiesa’s current transfer value is around 60 million euros. The value can certainly be higher, especially since he is still under contract with Juventus until June 2022.

Chiesa was brought in by Juventus at the start of this season on loan from Fiorentina for two seasons. The Bianconeri have to pay compensation of 20 million euros to Fiorentina.

The Old Lady has the option to make Chiesa permanent at the end of the loan period by pouring in an additional 40 million euros.
