Italian Defender Says Lukaku Is Harder to Keep than Ronaldo

DBasia.news – The Italian national team continued its impressive performance under the direction of Roberto Mancini. Gli Azzurri – Italy’s nickname – qualified for the Euro 2020 quarter-finals after getting rid of Austria with a score of 2-1.
The victory keeps Italy’s unbeaten record and further strengthens the status of favorite champions. Two Italian goals were born from Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina, while the other goal was scored by Sasa Kalajdzic.
Italy will await the winner of the match between Portugal, who is the defending champion of the European Cup, or Belgium, the team currently ranked first in the FIFA world. Italy defender Francesco Acerbi spoke about the potential opponent of Italy.
If Portugal qualify then the Italian defense will be tested by Cristiano Ronaldo, but if Belgium qualify then they will face Romelu Lukaku. Acerbi chose between Lukaku and Ronaldo.
“Maybe Lukaku (to be played in the quarter-finals), because he is a complete player, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, who always scores goals,” Acerbi said as quoted by Football-Italy.
“As a centre-forward, Lukaku is more difficult to defend because he has a stronger physique, he has strength and a bit more as a striker.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a classic striker, but he stands out more than Lukaku,” added Acerbi.
Apart from the potential to face one of them, Acerbi assesses that the quarter-final phase will be very important for Italy because if it passes, the next tough opponent awaits in the semifinals.
“Now every game is important. Being a little tense is normal. Now, we have Belgium or Portugal, then if we win then it’s potentially against France, they are a strong team, which will probably make you play better. But they have quality. which is much better,” concluded Acerbi.
