Italian National Team Traditions When Winning Euro 2020

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Italy underwent an impressive Euro 2020 and finally became champions. There is a ‘tradition’ that Italy has maintained since the start of the tournament.

Italy won Euro 2020 after beating England in the final on penalties. The match must be completed through high-fives after the match ended in a 1-1 draw until extra time.

Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci told about a ‘tradition’ which later became a superstition for the Italian national team throughout Euro 2020.

Ahead of the first match in the group stage against Turkey, the Italian team bus left the hotel without assistant coach, Gianluca Vialli. Because the match ended in victory for Italy, they then made it a kind of ‘ritual’.

After winning Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium, the Italian national team was warmly welcomed and paraded in Rome. Bonucci reveals his team-mates’ celebrations on the night after winning.

“After winning, we celebrated all night. Once we arrived in Rome, we couldn’t help it. (Nicolo) Barella was drunk,” said Bonucci.

“In the end you realize that you are prepared for certain situations even if you don’t know. Even during the tournament, we enjoy barbecue and have drinks together,” he added.
