Jack Grealish is thrilled that his dream of defending the British National Team has been achieved

DBasia.news – Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish, made his debut with the England national team against Denmark in the 2nd match of the UEFA Nations League A Group 2, in Parken, Wednesday (9/9). Grealish said it was his dream since childhood.

Jack Grealish came on as a substitute for Kalvin Phillips in the 76th minute. It was the first time the 24-year-old midfielder had played with the England national team.

After the match, the player who was being linked with Manchester United did not contain his mixed feelings. As defending the England national team has been his dream since he was a child. Although, in that match England only played 0-0.

“I’m actually a little emotional. This is something I have dreamt about. Every kid who plays football will dream of strengthening the England national team,” Grealish told Sky Sports.

“It’s an honor to play. Too bad we couldn’t win.”

“I want to thank Gareth Southgate for giving me the opportunity. Hopefully this is the start of many more opportunities,” said the midfielder.

“I was asked to warm up and stayed there for 10 to 15 minutes until I finally got a call. When I did, it was a brilliant moment for me.”

For Grealish, playing for the national team was an achievement in his career. Grealish felt comfortable strengthening The Three Lions.

“This is my first game and I am glad with what I did. I am enjoying every minute of it. Everyone makes me feel welcome here.”

Apart from Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Conor Coady and Ashley Mailtland-Niles also got the opportunity to appear for the first time for the England national team. This step is important to provide experience for new faces.
