Jadon Sancho Approaches Frank Lampard’s Record
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Jadon Sancho’s performance with Borussia Dortmund continues to improve. He even came near to Frank Lampard’s record.
Dortmund won 2-1 over Borussia Monchengladbach in Borussia-Park on Week 25 of the Bundesliga, Sunday (08/03) AM local time, through goals created by Thorgan Hazard (8 ‘) and Achraf Hakimi (71’) who scaled down Lars Stindl (50) ‘).
“It was challenging. Gladbach was efficient and our first half wasn’t great. But after 1-1, we played well – and that was great, really great,” said Lucien Favre, Dortmund coach, after the game ended.
One key moment occurred in the second half when Favre played Jadon Sancho in the 66th minute. Five minutes on the field, Sancho provided an assist to Hakimi which resulted in a goal.
The contribution of his assists increased Sancho’s number of assists to 15 this season. According to Squawka’s records, Sancho is now the second British player after Frank Lampard, a Chelsea legend, who provided 15 assists and more in the top five European leagues.
Lampard, who is now a Chelsea manager, provided 18 assists in the 2004-05 season. Given the long season, Jadon Sancho may increase the number of assists and equal – or even exceed – Lampard’s record.
The vision of play and accurate operand of Jadon Sancho is good news for the England national team ahead of the 2020 European Cup. Not only has his performance improved, but England also needs creative players like him in midfield.
