Jadon Sancho Hasn’t Shine, Manchester United Can Still Calm

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Jadon Sancho is still failing to show his best form since moving to Manchester United this summer. But the Red Devils are not yet the time to press the panic alarm.

Sancho has been Manchester United’s main target since last season. He is one of the best wingers England have at the moment.

Sancho’s career has shone since moving to Borussia Dortmund. The Manchester City academy dropout was able to maximize his potential through a fairly high score of goals and assists.

No wonder the success of Manchester United hijacking Sancho from Borussia Dortmund was greeted with joy by his supporters. The high tag of £72.9 million doesn’t seem to be bothered.

Sancho’s presence is considered to be able to patch the hole on the right side of Manchester United’s attack. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for the right player to fill the position.

High expectations immediately accompanied Sancho’s appearance with Manchester United. However, from the five matches that have been played, the 21-year-old has not once recorded a goal or an assist.

Sancho’s appearance is still far below his best. He doesn’t seem to fit into Manchester United’s style of play.

No wonder the quality of Sancho began to be doubted. He is considered not good enough to play at Manchester United.

But a defense was given by his former coach at Watford academy, Louis Lancaster. Sancho did start his football education there before being hijacked by Manchester City.

“When Jadon went to Germany, his first year was not very good. But he has people who believe in him and now what he has achieved is incredible,” Lancaster told the Manchester Evening News.

“He got the England call-up because of Germany, because of Borussia Dortmund. We have to be very grateful to Germany for giving him the opportunity.”

“You have to respect players who make mistakes because it’s part of the process. But how do they recover from those mistakes,” he added.

What Lancaster said was true. Sancho also had difficulties in his first year at Dortmund.

The 2017-2018 season which became Sancho’s debut with Dortmund. He only got the opportunity to appear 12 times in the Bundesliga with a score of one goal and four assists.

One season later, Sancho immediately transformed into one of Dortmund’s key players. He made 43 appearances in all competitions and recorded 13 goals and 20 assists.

Sancho’s performance continued to improve in the following seasons. Manchester United was tempted to bring him.

In addition, Sancho also made a slow start with Dortmund at the start of last season. He only scored four goals and eight assists until the turn of the year.

But after that, Sancho seemed to step on the gas. The 2020-2021 season ended with a collection of 16 goals and 20 assists.

Manchester United certainly hopes that this phenomenon will repeat itself. But Sancho must quickly find the best performance before the burden and pressure gets bigger on him.
