DBasia.news – Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson admits that Liverpool has the quality in their squad to cope with the absence of influential center-back, Virgil van Dijk. This is because the Dutch defender is in danger of being sidelined for a while due to a serious injury after experiencing a tough tackle from Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford last week.
The Dutch defender will be out for quite some time with a serious injury after experiencing a tough tackle from Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford last week.
Henderson said that any team will feel lost if they are not strengthened by quality players like Van Dijk, but his team now has to focus on the next match.
“I see the players we have can play that position and I will not trade them for anyone else. Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho are international quality players who have proven to us as a team many times,” said Henderson.
“Nat Phillips is almost back in shape and has the qualities of being a good center-back. Rhys Williams has impressed me with his attitude and mentality. Billy Koumetio and Sepp van den Berg are the same. Everyone is studying in the best environment,” said the captain.
“Is any of them Virgil van Dijk? No, but they don’t need to be. They just need to be themselves and give their best for this club, whether in training or when called up in matches. The rest of us have to be there to help. “
Van Dijk is rumored to be out for up to seven months, but Henderson hopes his partner will recover sooner.
“Virgil will come back with us sooner. Because he is an extraordinary professional, I know he will come back better,” added Henderson.
