DBasia.news – Jordan Henderson is disappointed with Liverpool’s draw at Brentford headquarters. The Liverpool captain regretted that his team failed to finish off the opponent when they were ahead.

The Brentford vs Liverpool duel in the continued Premier League at the Brentford Community Stadium, was held Saturday (25/9/2021) evening WIB. Liverpool, who had won twice, finally had to settle for a 3-3 final result.

Being left behind first, Liverpool then turned things around through goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah. However, Brentford equalized after Vitaly Janelt scored in the 63rd minute.

Curtis Jones restored Liverpool’s lead through his goal in the 67th minute. However, Brentford continued hit back, this time through Yoane Wissa’s goal in the 82nd minute.

Liverpool had several opportunities to increase their advantage. One of them was through a counter-attack which Mohamed Salah failed to complete.

Those wasted opportunities became a regret for Jordan Henderson. He considered Liverpool’s failure to add goals to make sure Brentford could catch up.

“It was an intense game, we knew it was going to be. Playing here is tough. The atmosphere is great and they made it difficult for us. Winning twice and not defending it is disappointing,” Henderson told Sky Sports.

“At 2-1 ahead we had one or two chances to finish them off. It gave them a bit of hope. Sometimes football is like that, we are disappointed with results but we have to give credit to Brentford.”

“We are also an intense team, but there was a lot of room for improvement for us today. We controlled the game better in the second half, but unfortunately we couldn’t keep it going to win,” stated Henderson.

With this result, Liverpool are still top of the Premier League standings with 14 points from six matches.
