DBasia.news – Ahead of the north London derby, Jose Mourinho quipped Arsenal by saying he was not looking down the table.
Arsenal will host Tottenham in the 2020-2021 Premier League follow-up, at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (14/3). The match is titled the North London derby.
Ahead of the match, Mourinho started to do psywar. Mourinho highlighted Arsenal’s position under Tottenham.
Currently, Arsenal are in 10th place in the standings after winning 38 points from 27 matches. Meanwhile, Tottenham are better off with 45 points from 27 matches.
“I always look up, not down. If Arsenal are seven points above us, I will see them. However, because we are seven points ahead of them, I do not look down,” explained Mourinho as reported by Metro.
“However, at the same time we always look at the next game. If it’s Arsenal, Aston Villa or Newcastle United, the match still feels the same.”
However, Mourinho admits that he still has respect for Arsenal. He considered Arsenal is a sleeping giant.
“I want to respect and I don’t want to offend. I’m very proud to be at Tottenham. I feel like I’m working every day at a big club,” said The Special One.
“Regardless of the competition between us and Arsenal, I want to respect them. Arsenal is a club with a great history. Like us, they are trying to build a better future. I respect them.”
Statistics record, Arsenal are winless in the last five matches against Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners drew two and lost three.
