DBasia.news – Red Devils midfielder, Juan Mata, asked his colleagues to appear more consistent next season.
Manchester United failed to secure a spot in the top four in the final standings of the 2018/19 Premier League season. These results make them fail to secure a place in the Champions League group phase. However, United can still compete in the European arena in the Europa League.
“We know this team must perform better than last season. “This team has more trophies than other clubs in the UK,” Mata said.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Manchester United have never won the league championship again. Their final trophy was the 2017 Europa League. Three months before, there was an English League Cup which was also won under Jose Mourinho.
“Playing for Manchester United feels very unique. I love being here and struggling to win the prestigious trophy with this team. Supporters deserve that for what they do. We want to win a big trophy again because that’s what United did in the past,” he continued.
