DBasia.news – Juan Mata was selected as Man of the Match when Manchester United beat Brighton and Hove Albian 3-0, in the League Cup, Thursday (1/10). Mata performed brilliantly by contributing one assist and a goal at Amex Stadium. The goal was also the 50th goal for the Red Devils.
However, Mata emphasized that the League Cup is not a competition that is underestimated, as it has the potential to give the title to Man United, which they won the last time in 2019. Therefore, the Red Devils have always tried to win every match they pass.
“The League Cup means a trophy, that’s what we have in mind, to tried to lift the trophy for our fans,” Mata said as quoted from the official Manchester United website, Thursday (1/10).
Although, Mata says that this year’s League Cup a little differently, as it was done at the start of the competition. But he still hopes to continue to the quarterfinals, semifinals and play at Wembley Stadium. Mata, who is now 32 years old, still feels ready to compete with young players both physically and mentally.
“I’m still hungry, I still have the desire to compete and I feel I can still play a lot of games with my feet and my mind,” concluded the former Chelsea player.
