Jurgen Klopp defends Manchester United, after hearing the words of Gabriel Agbonlahor

DBasia.news – Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp says he almost called talkSPORT after hearing Gabriel Agbonlahor’s words about Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp insists that what Agbonlahor said is not correct.

Gabriel Agbonlahor became a pundit on talkSPORT to comment on Manchester United’s match against Brentford. At that time, the Red Devils lost 4-0.

These records add to the minor results achieved by the Red Devils. Because, previously Manchester United also lost at the hands of Brighton.

“That’s not Manchester United. If I were them after this game, I would think Ten Hag to leave. He had pre-season and started badly. They are like strangers on the pitch,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“They are not good enough and look like amateurs. I speak facts and will be approved by real Manchester United fans. They are not the same Manchester United they used to be.”

Apparently, Agbonlahor’s statement made Jurgen Klopp furious. The manager also referred to his side’s 6-0 win against Aston Villa in February 2016, a match in which Agbonlahor played almost an hour. The German manager actually defended his rival and Erik ten Hag.

“It was definitely not good for United after the Brentford game. We forget in these moments how good Brentford is. I watched the first half here then I went home and listened to talkSPORT,” Klopp insisted.

“Gabby Agbonlahor, he lost against us 6-0 in my first year (at Liverpool, ed). I can’t remember him being a mentality monster on the pitch (that day, ed). What he said about United on the show, I almost called! I had to call and tell him completely forgot you’re a player, that’s great.”

“You just have to ask yourself how you want to react in a situation like that. They will want to fight back, that’s completely normal and that’s what we did,” Klopp explained.

Manchester United will face Liverpool in the third match of the week at Old Trafford Stadium, Tuesday (23/8). The Reds are also in bad shape after only picking up two points from the first two games.
