DBasia.news – Liverpool had to be willing to let Takumi Minamino go after more than two years of empowering the Japanese national team player. Taki, confirmed to join the French club, AS Monaco.
Last 2021/22 season, Taki contributed greatly to Liverpool’s achievement of winning the League Cup and FA Cup. Unfortunately, Taki is still unable to compete to become the core squad for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager said he was sad to have to part with Taki. Personally, Taki is really a footballer who all coaches dream of.
“It’s difficult to see Taki leave, but it’s a great move for him and he really deserves it,” Klopp said.
“An outstanding professional, a super talented player. As a person, he is full of warmth and makes everyone feel positive. [Player] A dream for a manager, to be honest.”
Klopp himself emphasized that the recruitment of Taki was not a failure. “I’m sure there will be people who think it doesn’t work. Those who think this is wrong. I don’t accept that.”
“His contribution far exceeds the chances we can give, in terms of the early games. He makes us better every day he is with us, not only in the games he plays but every session in training. Perfect attitude, winning mentality.”
