Jurgen Klopp Gives a Comparison between Salah and Lewandowski

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The quality of Jurgen Klopp in shaping a player to become a star cannot be doubted. Mohamed Salah is the last example.

Klopp brought Salah to Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. The Egyptian national was bought for around 42 million euros.

Klopp’s decision had sparked debate. He is considered to spend too much money for players who fail to shine with Chelsea.

But the doubt was answered by Salah in no time. He ended his first season with a collection of 44 goals and 16 assists.

Salah also played an important role in bringing Liverpool to the Champions League final. Unfortunately for the top party, he was injured after being violated by Sergio Ramos so that the Reds lost to Real Madrid.

Salah’s goal productivity began to decline two seasons later. However, this was covered by Liverpool’s success in winning the Champions League and Premier League.

Salah’s success reminded the public of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish national player was also discovered by Klopp during his time with Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski was also formed by Klopp to become a goal-hungry striker until he was hijacked by Bayern Munich. The player is now one of the best bombers in Europe.

Klopp is actually reluctant to compare the quality of Salah and Lewandowski. According to him, both players have had fantastic careers.

“Let me put it this way, Robert Lewandowski who I brought in for a different amount of money many years ago has had an incredible development from a different level,” Klopp said on the club’s official website.

“Meanwhile Mo (Salah) is a very good football player and has grown to become a goal scoring machine. You can sign a player but then we are all responsible for making it happen.”

However, Klopp felt that Salah was not respected by the public like Lewandowski. However, this did not make him doubt the quality of the player.

“Mo is back to playing another great season, and if we play at a more consistent level then the number of goals will be different and even better. He’s a real role model and he deserves all of that, of course, “he concluded.
