Jurgen Klopp shocked to see Liverpool beat Manchester United

DBasia.news – Liverpool defeated Manchester United seven goals without reply in the Premier League tie at Anfield. Each brace from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, as well as Roberto Firmino’s goal in the final minutes completed their goal feast at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp admitted that he was surprised by the final result, but he claimed that his team had shown a promising performance from the start.
“Stunning result, top performance. Really great performance from the start, I think the way we started the game was really special, the best for in a while,” Klopp said as quoted from page club official.
“We were there, we were aggressive. We were calm in the right moments, lively, active and after 25 minutes it opened up a bit. United did a bit better as time went on but the goal before half-time was a sensational goal, what Robbo did [Robertson] there, cutting inside calmly, what we’re really asking for, that in these moments we have to give ourselves time to get it right, and then Gakpo realized pretty early on that Robbo wanted to pass the ball over and had a great solution.”
This victory is clearly an important capital for the Reds to look into the next matches, especially when facing Real Madrid in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League, where they lost 5-2 in the first leg. Even so, Klopp admits that he still doesn’t want to focus on the match and prefers to prepare his team well ahead of the match against Bournemouth. “Not thinking one bit about it. Absolutely not. It’s not important. We have to see who is available for the next game. Now we have to make sure we bring all the players in top condition to Bournemouth and then we can think about Madrid.”
Klopp’s team will face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday (11/3) evening WIB, and five days later will duel Real Madrid in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu.
