Jurgen Klopp Urges Premier League Clubs to be Open about Players Who Are Positive for Covid-19

DBasia.news – Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave his opinion regarding the increasing number of positive cases of Covid-19 among Premier League clubs recently.

The Premier League recorded the most positive cases last week. A total of 42 people were infected with the corona virus in the period from December 6 to 12.

As a result, a number of matches had to be postponed. Some clubs have even had to close training centers because of the large number of infected players.

Premier League club operators and representatives will meet early next week to discuss the matter. There is talk of postponing all matches for two weeks.

Klopp believes that all clubs must have the same vision to get through this storm. One of them is by revealing the names of those infected with the corona virus.

“I just think with all the things we discussed and we don’t know, is there a solution? I don’t see it at the moment. But more transparency I think would be very helpful,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.

“So we know at the moment three players may not be available and if they will be available we will say so. If it is a false positive and we are aware of it then we will say that and everyone knows they are now available.”

Klopp indirectly insinuated a number of clubs who kept data on positive players from the corona virus a secret. This makes him and the players uncomfortable when dealing with such an opponent.

There is a tendency for teams to keep the identities of infected players a secret for technical reasons. They don’t want their opponents to know the names that will be absent.

“I heard a number of Manchester United and Tottenham players were infected but I don’t know who the players were. I don’t know if it is necessary to know people’s data and if necessary to know how many,” he added.

Liverpool itself is one of the most transparent clubs in this regard. The Reds immediately announced that Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk had tested positive for the corona virus before the match against Newcastle.
