Juventus CEO discusses Paul Pogba’s transfer rumors
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has dismissed claims he is in negotiations with Paul Pogba’s agent for the Manchester United midfielder.
Pogba is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and Goal can confirm that the Bianconeri have offered him a three-year contract for the midfielder.
Several reports also stated that Juve had held talks with Pogba’s new agent, Rafaela Pimenta, but the Juve CEO denied this.
The 2018 World Cup-winning midfielder had previously defended the Old Lady between 2012 and 2016 after Juventus signed him for free from the Red Devils.
The 29-year-old player then returned to Old Trafford for a then world record transfer fee of £89 million.
Unfortunately, Pogba’s second term at the Theater of Dreams did not go as expected, until the player himself admitted that he was disappointed with the last five years he had spent without a single title.
Now, at the crossroads of his career, Pogba could potentially return to Turin, but the Juve CEO has denied holding talks with his agent.
“Let me make one thing clear,” Arrivabene told Sky Sports Italia.
“Pogba is a Manchester United player. We have to show respect to him and his squad.”
“However, Pogba’s agent is the same person who represented Moise Kean and Luca Pellegrini, so it’s normal for us to meet them.”
“The subject of today’s meeting is not about Pogba. If we want to talk to Pogba, we have to talk to Manchester United first. This is called a gentlemen’s agreement or unwritten rules between clubs.”
Pogba is predicted to have played his last game in a Red Devils shirt because he will not feature in the final match of the season, away to Crystal Palace on Sunday (22/5), due to injury.
