Juventus inaugurate Filip Kostic’s transfer

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Juventus have managed to sign Filip Kostic for 17 million euros (17 million dollars/14 million pounds). The deal was confirmed by Eintracht Frankfurt coach, Oliver Glasner.

Kostic, who is able play anywhere on the left, is one of the crowd favorites after assisting in the Europa League final win over Rangers in May and being involved in 21 goals in all competitions in yesterday’s event.

As a result of his contribution, Glasner has no regrets about the Serbia international moving to Juventus, calling him a “hero” ahead of the UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid.

“From a sporting point of view, the fact that we are missing a player like that is definitely a weakness,” Glasner told reporters.

“But I also [feel good] because I know how last season started with Filip’s strike, where he didn’t play.

“We had a lot of discussions at the time and he made himself 100% to serve the team. That’s when I said that he should leave the team as a hero. That’s what he’s doing now, he’s left Eintracht as European champions.

“He is the best player in the Europa League, which he deserves. From the bottom of my heart, I have no regrets. But from a sporting point of view, it is a loss.”

Glasner continued: “We’ve had issues with Filip every year since he joined us. Of course it’s a shame, Filip has done a lot for this club. He left as a hero who played a huge role for this team, but you have to be honest: this is a part of football.

“Players come and go. Today is a day when an important player leaves. It’s part of the game. We have a team that can win games and do well without Filip. It’s a shame, but we won’t fall apart.

A transfer announcement can be expected this week, as Kostic is due to land in Turin on Tuesday to complete a medical.

The 29-year-old player could make his debut with Juventus on Monday against Sassuolo or on August 22 against Sampdoria.

In Turin, Kostic has the potential to be played in the position of left midfielder or wing-back.
