Juventus Threatened with Relegation Penalty to Serie B

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Juventus’ existence in Serie A is now threatened because of the Capital Gain case. The relegation penalty to Serie B lurks the Bianconeri if found guilty.

Juventus is currently under investigation into cases of falsification of books and transfers of 50 million euros. This is thought to have been done since 2018.

The investigation stems from a file opened by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office after the CONSOB and COVISOC (Serie A Club Oversight) investigations. Juventus officials such as Andrea Agnelli (club president), Pavel Nedved (vice president), to Fabio Paratici (former director) have been questioned.

Juventus have officially denied the allegations. The Old Lady felt that she had not committed the offense as alleged.

The threat of relegation to Juventus itself was conveyed by the Italian Consumer Rights Protection Association (CODACONS). The body is linked to the Italian Olympic Association (CONI).

“The accusation system is very serious and highlights the last football championship, also because there was a real domination of Juventus that ended last year,” said CODACONS president Marco Donzelli as quoted by TMW.

“If Juventus unlawfully gains an advantage over a rival club by this kind of operation, then the decision regarding the result of the last football championship will be void. As a result, the Federation and the Market Competition Authority must intervene and sanction them for responsibility.”

“For this reason and to protect thousands of fans, we will file a complaint with Antitrust and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office seeking relegation to Serie B for Juventus and the revocation of the last league title won under the shadow of this potentially illegal operation,” he added.

Donzelli’s demands are indeed very heavy. But it is not impossible that it will become a reality.

If found guilty and sentenced to severe punishment, Juventus will repeat the bad memory in 2006 ago. At that time they also had to be relegated and their two Scudetto titles stripped.
