Juventus want to extend Leonardo Bonucci’s contract

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Leonardo Bonucci has not shown a convincing performance throughout the 2022-2023 season. But this in fact does not make Juventus hesitate to take the decision to extend the 35-year-old defender’s contract.

After the departure of Giorgio Chiellini at the end of last season, Bonucci took on the responsibilities of captain and leader in defence. Unfortunately, the Viterbo-born player’s performance was not too optimal.

Bonucci was partly responsible for a series of minor results achieved by Juventus at the start of the 2022-2023 season. The Bianconeri’s goal has conceded 13 goals from the first 10 Serie A matches.

No wonder many Juventus fans criticized Bonucci. This has not been added to the rumors of a dispute with the coach, Massimiliano Allegri.

At his peak, Bonucci was sidelined when Juventus traveled to Torino headquarters last weekend. Although he was eventually included as a substitute following Gleison Bremer’s injury.

However, Juventus management seems to still believe in Bonucci’s ability. According to Goal’s report, management wants to extend his contract.

Currently, Bonucci is still under contract until the summer of 2024. At that moment, he will be 37 years old.

The duration of the new contract that Juventus will offer to Bonucci is unknown. The player also wouldn’t necessarily immediately accept it.
