Karim Benzema May Still be Absent When Real Madrid Face PSG

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Karim Benzema is still not available in Real Madrid’s squad for this weekend’s game against Villarreal, which worries him even more ahead of the important game against Paris Saint-Germain.

Los Blancos have announced their squad that was brought to the Estadio de La Ceramica this Saturday (12/2), and again there is no Benzema name in it.

The France striker has missed Real Madrid’s last two games with a hamstring problem and must now train separately from Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

According to Marca, there is a small tear in Karim Benzema’s hamstring and Real Madrid’s medical staff have been trying to restore it since January 23, after the 34-year-old picked up an injury in the match against Elche the day before.

Now, with the absence in the squad for the match against Villarreal, Benzema’s participation for the match against PSG in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 is also a big question mark.

Madrid have been in a goals crisis since Benzema was not in the squad, which was reflected in last week’s 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, before Marco Asensio’s rocket secured a 1-0 win over Granada in La Liga last weekend.

Los Merengues travel to the Parc des Princes on Tuesday (15/2) next week, before hosting PSG at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 9.
