Kevin De Bruyne appeared with a torn ligament

DBasia.news – Belgium must recognize Italy’s toughness after they lost 1-2 in the Euro 2020 quarter-final match, Saturday (3/7) WIB. Belgium failed to perform optimally in this match.

One of Belgium’s mainstay stars who did not perform optimally was Kevin De Bruyne. The injuries made the Manchester City attacking midfielder unable to give his best.

Regarding the injury, De Bruyne was initially doubtful of his condition to appear against Italy. But at the last moment De Bruyne was declared ready to fight. Later, De Bruyne admitted he played while suffering from pain.

De Bruyne was actually not in good condition ahead of the tournament being held. However, his condition could improve and he was finally able to appear for Belgium.

“For me, it’s been a strange four or five weeks. But I want to thank the medical staff,” De Bruyne told UEFA’s website.

Furthermore, De Bruyne revealed, in the match against Italy, he played with a torn ligament. “It was a miracle I was able to play today. There has been confirmed damage to my ankle. There is a tear in my ligaments.”

“But I feel that I have a responsibility to play for my country. It’s a shame I couldn’t have done more,” stated De Bruyne.
