DBasia.news – Kevin De Bruyne has been named the best player in the Premier League by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). After the coronation, he revealed the keys to his success.
The PFA, aka the English Footballers Association, named Kevin De Bruyne as the best player for the 2019/2020 season. Kevin De Bruyne defeated four other players from Liverpool namely Virgil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson.
Kevin De Bruyne did perform well last season with Manchester City. He is a substitute attacking life, who can control the game and sometimes score goals.
Last season, the Belgian player recorded 13 goals and 20 assists. That makes him the player who has contributed the most to goals compared to other Premier League players.
This also became the second best player title that De Bruyne received after being selected in a similar award held by the Premier League competition operator.
Kevin De Bruyne was honored to win this award. He is a City player who has received another award from the PFA since 1974!
“This is a happy award, because it was chosen by other players which from my team-mates as well as the opponents I have faced on the field. It feels extraordinary,” said Kevin De Bruyne as quoted by Mirror.
Kevin De Bruyne also expressed his gratitude to manager Pep Guardiola, Manchester City. Implied, it seems that he is giving a secret so that he continues to perform brilliantly on the field.
“Pep Guardiola gave me a lot of freedom to play. I don’t know why, but that’s what happened between us,” he explained.
“Obviously he will prioritize the team, then the players. Obviously, he helped me and gave me full confidence,” added De Bruyne.
