DBasia.news –  Atletico Madrid are very active in the transfer market this summer. Latest, Atletico allegedly reached an agreement for 20 million pounds to recruit Kieran Trippier from Tottenham Hotspur.

“Kieran Trippier is getting closer to securing his move to Atletico Madrid in a transfer deal of 20 million pounds, an additional plus, and has been given permission by Tottenham to travel to the Spanish capital for a medical test,” wrote the Guardian article made by David Hytner and Fabrizio Romano.

28-year-old Trippier will be a direct replacement for Juanfran at Atletico right-back. The club was supposed to target Nelson Semedo, Barcelona’s right-back, but the Blaugrana did not release any of its valuable assets.

Tottenham allowed Trippier to leave the pre-season training session in Asia to undergo a medical test. Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs manager, currently has Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters to play right-back. If needed, Juan Foyth can also play there.

Trippier has the nickname, Bury’s David Beckham. In addition to being good at keeping the right side of the defense and riding to help attack, as well as releasing accurate crosses, Trippier is also a reliable dead ball executor.

His great appearance at the 2018 World Cup with the England national team is proof of the quality of the former Burnley player. The price tag is relatively cheap if you see Aaron Wan-Bissaka bought by Manchester United for 50 million pounds.

Trippier will be the eighth recruit for Diego Simeone’s Atletico this summer. Atletico have successfully recruited: Nicolas Ibanez, Hector Herrera, Ivan Saponjic, Renan Lodi, Felipe, Marcos Llorente, and Joao Felix, before Trippier’s arrival.
