Klopp Believed Keita Will Grow in Liverpool

By news-admin

DBasia.news – Liverpool is one of the favorite teams to win the Premier League this season, as the great signings this summer: Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Alisson Becker. Four of them recruited to complete Jurgen Klopp’s need in the specific areas.

Keita, for example. The Guinean midfielder was recruited by Liverpool last season by activating his buying clause worth £48M at RB Leipzig. Both clubs agreed to conduct the transfer this summer.

Klopp sent the 23-year-old player on the pitch when Liverpool won 4-0 against West Ham United in the first week of Premier League. Keita touched the ball 81 teams and active in every phase of Liverpool, both defending or attacking. He could dribble the ball, helped the team to cover the defensive line, played transition, and scored the goal from the second line.

Seeing the talents of Keita, Klopp admitted that he has no clue how will the Horoya academy alumnus grow.

“Naby, we all have no clue how good he can be,” admitted Klopp. “He’s too young to judge him. What can we say? Obviously, he learned very quickly already in the last few years, from Austria to Leipzig, now here,” Klopp said reported by ESPN.

“So he adapts constantly and brings himself to the next level. Adapts to the other players, uses them really well. I don’t want to make it too big (a thing), it’s just that I don’t know.”

“If you asked me what his greatest strength was, I couldn’t say it really. It’s not because he’s not long enough here. But he’s a very smart footballer,” Klopp concluded.

Klopp wasn’t exaggerating. In fact, from Whoscored data, Keita had no gap in his performance with the ability to: through ball passing, ball dribbling, ball passing, key pass creating, defending, ball cutting, and tackling. His two weaknesses are just the discipline and aerial duels.
