Klopp Confirms Gakpo was the Only Big Purchase in January

DBasia.news – Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Cody Gakpo will be their only big signing in the January transfer window.

Klopp says Liverpool “can’t play like monopoly” in the January transfer window. He has “faith and trust” in the players he has.

“I don’t want to let anyone down, but we signed an amazing player like Cody Gakpo and the next thing you can read is, ‘Who’s next?'” he stated.

“We can’t play like Monopoly. We never did. It’s a big part of my philosophy, work with full faith and trust in the players we have and not constantly question them telling them we need players in that position.”

Liverpool brought in Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven with a transfer value of 37 million pounds (Rp. 694 billion).

The arrival of the Dutch national team player could be ammunition for Klopp when Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota were both absent due to injury.

Liverpool had a poor start to the season to be 15 points behind Arsenal but won their last four league games to move up to sixth place ahead of Tuesday’s away game at Brentford.
