DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool including the weekend duel which is planned to be ongoing, aka not postponed. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hopes that the duel, which was held at the Tottenham Stadium on Sunday (19/12), will not have the same fate as other postponed matches.
Klopp’s hope comes at a time when other matches in the Premier League have been postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 outbreak. One of the clubs hit hard by COVID-19 is Tottenham who have not played since 5 December 2021 due to several players and staff contracting the virus.
Previously, Tottenham’s matches against Rennes, Brighton and Leicester City had been postponed. Meanwhile, Liverpool played as scheduled, although ahead of Newcastle United, three players tested positive for COVID-19.
Klopp said he did not see any advantage for his squad with the conditions experienced by The Lilywhite. Klopp still sees Tottenham need to be wary.
“We hope to play and Tottenham can play on Sunday,” said Klopp.
Klopp said, as a football fan, would be happy if Liverpool’s game against Tottenham went ahead. Of course, he still wants the competent authorities to ensure there is no risk of the player being infected.
Liverpool is currently sticking closely to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings. The Reds are only one point adrift of City.
