Koscielny Reveals Reasons to Leave Arsenal

DBasia.news –  Former French national team player, Laurent Koscielny, said that he was no longer able to play for Arsenal in the 2019-20 season.  That was also the main reason behind his departure to Bordeaux in the last transfer window.

 Throughout the summer transfer market.  Koscielny indeed forced his will to leave Arsenal.  To get his wish, the 34-year-old had refused to be part of the Gunners’ pre-season tour squad.

 “One season in the Premier League can run very long.  I often experience physical and mental fatigue after undergoing a season in the Premier League.  I feel that I am no longer able to play in 40 to 50 matches this season,” said Laurent Koscielny.

 “I don’t want to end my professional career with injury.  My choice in the transfer market then was, moving clubs or staying at Arsenal.  At that time, I prioritized the interests of my family to return to France,” Koscielny continued.

 “I left Arsenal with very high pride.  “Everyone who worked there for the past nine years and the coaching staff appreciated my decision to return to France,” Koscielny said.
