DBasia.news – Ashley Cole has no club since his contract ended in Derby County last December. In his 37, the former left-back of England national team and Chelsea is a free agent.
But, the longing of the football fans to see Cole’s performance would happen soon. Apparently, Frank Lampard as the manager of Derby Country sends the signal that his former teammate would join Pride Park.
“Some of the ways the media painted him was out of order. Anybody who knows Ashley Cole knows he’s polite. He’s a family man, he adores the people around him,” Lampard said cited by Mirror.
“He trains diligently every day. He is nice to all the fans – and those things may have been glossed over in the past, but now the truth is coming out. If you give him one pound or £100,000 a week, you still get the same professional every day. He will turn up first to the training ground and give everything,” he added.
Ashley Cole would sign the contract until the end of the season with £10,000 weekly salary. The former AS Roma player had a medical review on Monday (21/1).
Concluding, Lampard said that the presence of former Arsenal player would develop some other young players in the team like Harry Wilson and Mason Mount.
“We have a lot of young players in this squad now. Players will look up to Ashley. He wants to be a coach. Hopefully, that can help everyone,” said the Chelsea top-scorer of all time.
