Lampard Praises Chelsea’s Character

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard praised the character and quality shown by his team in the second half of the Week 30 match of the English League which led to the success of reversing the situation and defeating host, Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park, Birmingham.

“We showed great character and quality in the second half to win the match, I am satisfied,” Lampard said after the match, as reported by the official Chelsea website.

Chelsea, who have dominated the game since the start of the season, had to go to halftime in a state of lag behind Kortney Hause’s goal.

However, Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud in the second half scored two consecutive goals in a period of three minutes, both of which came from captain Cesar Azpilicueta’s assist, to turn things around and win 2-1.

“I think we played the ball pretty well in most matches and certainly dominated possession,” he stated.

“Later it became our trend, dominant, but lacking in completion. However, I can understand, considering the players have long been absent,” Lampard added.

The match marked the first time Chelsea appeared in a competitive match since the league was suspended by the COVID-19 pandemic.
