Lautaro Martinez Needs Psychologist Help To Improve His Performance
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Lautaro Martinez has taken various ways to improve his performance on the field. One of them is asking for help from a psychologist.
Lautaro is one of Inter Milan’s mainstays on the front lines. His duet with Romelu Lukaku was the key to the Nerazzurri’s success in breaking Juventus’ dominance in Serie A.
Lautaro has played for Inter for a total of three seasons. He collected 49 goals and 20 assists from 132 matches.
The incision made Lautaro attracted the interest of big European clubs. Barcelona became one of the most eager to get it since last season.
But Lautaro was reluctant to be complacent. He feels that there are still many shortcomings that need to be addressed.
One of the shortcomings that the 23-year-old player considers is a matter of mental and emotional control. Therefore Lautaro is willing to consult a psychologist to solve it.
“I am happy and satisfied with my career because everything done with Inter helps me in the national team. I’m improving physically because I’ve been training carefully to reach my top condition,” Lautaro said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.
“But it’s more complicated to train my mentality even though being a father has helped me get things done off the pitch. A psychologist has helped me to reduce protests and collect fewer yellow cards.”
“Check the stats and you can see I have improved. A new season is in sight and so is the 2022 World Cup.”
What Lautaro said was a fact. The number of cards he collects has decreased significantly.
Lautaro was given 7 yellow cards in the 2018-2019 season which was the beginning of his journey at Inter. This number is actually still within normal limits.
However Lautaro’s card collection increased significantly in his second season. He was recorded as receiving 11 yellow cards and 1 red card throughout the 2019-2020 competition.
It was this minor statistic that seemed to prompt Lautaro to consult a psychologist. The decision in the end paid off because throughout last season he only received 6 yellow cards or the fewest since moving to Inter.
It is not impossible that Lautaro’s card collection will decrease in the 2021-2022 season. Inter certainly hopes that the mental improvement of the player is accompanied by an increase in his goal productivity.
